2nd Case of Progeria for Toledo, Ohio!

Progeria is a rare mutation in the genes that leads to rapid degeneration. A rare disease, effecting only 18 kids in the U. S. and only 80 cases known of around the world. It is even rarer for there to be to cases in such close proximity, let alone the same city.

Carly Kudzia, is the latest to be diagnosed with the illness, at the age of one. Before labeling the illness, Carly underwent all kinds of test, before finally testing for Progeria. The parents seem to be relieved to know what it is, but it is never good to hear bad news. As of now, Carly and the family try to live in the moment, mother stated, ‘ We know where we can be tomorrow or the next day, but for now, she is happy and healthy and that is all that matters.

There is some talk of a recent finding that slows down the process, but no cures are available at this time.
